Reach Across
At First Alliance Church our members are reaching across to other believers connecting in authentic, vital relationships. It is the next step in becoming a true disciple of Jesus. When we reach across to other believers we experience Jesus with skin on. We help each other figure out how to navigate living in this world and culture, sharpening each other, encouraging each other, loving each other. We want to "do life" together!
Why are we reaching across?
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. I John 4:7-8
How are we reaching across?
Sunday School classes that meet every Sunday morning at 9:30.
Life Groups that meet at homes once a week for a meal, discussion on how to apply ideas from the sermon, and prayer for personal needs.
Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down. Get along with each other; don't be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don't be the great somebody. Don't hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you've got it in you, get along with everybody. Don't insist on getting even; that's not for you to do. "I'll do the judging," says God. "I'll take care of it." Romans 12:9-19 The Message
